Even though we have suffered a cold start to May the property market is still very active. It is great to see there are plenty of buyers looking to purchase with strong growth in the property market, which is great news for Canberra. Our property management team are still quite busy even though this period is traditionally a "quieter" time in property management.

Meet our new team member - Danielle Hill

Having grown up in Canberra Danielle comes from a large family and loves family get togethers.
Having entered the property industry as a bubbly and passionate receptionist, Danielle soon found her calling and her passion in property management. Danielle then commenced her studies to enter property management. Outside activities with her family is what Danielle loves to do on her time off and she loves a good curry.
Danielle is now embarking on what is her seventh year in real estate, we are very excited to have her on our team as Danielle brings enthusiasm and a great eye for detail.

Owning an investment property does have its advantages and if you know what to claim; tax time can be very rewarding.
Now is the time to review your documentation and records to ensure that all your financials are in order, to maximise your return.
Here are some tips on what to check, complete and make sure you have in order prior to the 30th June;
- Finalise any outstanding maintenance.
- Collect and invoices that have been paid such as – maintenance, rates, land tax, water etc…
- Finalising any payments on invoices
- Organise/gather your depreciation schedule – If you don’t have one already you can chat to your property manager about arranging a quantity surveyor to prepare a schedule.
- Bank statements – showing any interest expenses
- Income and expenditure report (McIntyre Property will be emailing these out on the 1st July)

Recipe - Gnocchi with burnt sage butter

This recipe was a big hit even with our meat lovers.
- 100g unsalted butter, chopped
- 16-20 small sage leaves
- 800g gnocchi, cooked
- 1 cup (80g) parmesan, shaved or grated
- Salt, to season
(We added an assortment of mushrooms, pine nuts and used salted butter)
