We are celebrating Col McIntyre's win at the ACT Real Estate Institute awards last weekend. Col won ACT Real Estate Agent of the Year for the second year in a row. We were also finalists in the Medium Residential Agency of the year. Kimberly Kelly was finalist in Corporate Support Person of the Year, Jasmine Henjak was finalist in Property Manager of the year as with Glenn Finlay who was a finalist in his category. We are very excited and proud to be recognised in our industry by our peers.

Did you know? - New Opt in Provision for Landlords
|
From the 24th August 2017 there is a new opt in provision for a tenant terminating an agreement before the end of the fixed term.
A lessor and tenant may agree to include in the residential tenancy agreement, where an amount must be paid by the tenant if they terminate a fixed term lease early.
What it means for a landlord:
- It removes a lessors eligibility to apply to ACAT for compensation on the event of early termination by the tenant.
- If the fixed term of the lease is for 3 years or less and the tenant breaks the lease within the first half of the fixed term the tenant must pay a fee of 6 weeks rent to the lessor.
- If the fixed term of the lease is for 3 years or less and the tenant breaks the lease after the first half of the fixed term the tenant must pay a fee of 4 weeks rent to the lessor.
- If the fixed term of the lease is greater than 3 years the amount is as agreed between the lessor and the tenant.
This is not part of the standard tenancy agreement, it is an opt in clause. This means that you do not have to agree to its inclusion in the tenancy agreement. If you would like it in a new tenancy agreement please contact your property manager to discuss.

Recipe - Broccoli Bacon and Quinoa Fritters

Perfect for a light and tasty week meal.
Ingredients
- 4 Rashers Bacon, rind removed and chopped
- 2 X 400g cans white (Cannellini) beans, drained, rinsed and mashed
- 200G Steamed broccoli, finely chopped
- 3 Cups (570g) cooked Quinoa
- Sea salt and black pepper
- ½ Cup (50g) grated Mozzarella
- 1 Egg, lightly beaten
- ¼ Cup chopped basil leaves
- 2 Tablespoons of olive oil
- Tomato chutney to serve........
